Tavistock’s Farmers’ Christmas Market takes place this year on the 12th December in Bedford Square (Tavistock) from 9.00am to 1.00pm
Meet the Plymouth Dartmoor search and rescue team at Sainsbury’s Marsh Mills (Plymouth) over the weekend of 12-13 December, where you can meet members of the team, buy some of their merchandise and find out what it’s like being a member of a Search and Rescue Team.
St Michael’s Church in Princetown will be opened for a community carol service on Thursday, December 10.
The church, which was built by French and American Prisoners of War from Dartmoor Granite in 1813, was closed in 1994 and taken over by the Church of England’s Historic Buildings Trust. It is only open for a few special occasions throughout the year.
The service at 6pm and will be followed by mulled wine and mince-pies. Those attending to join in the carol singing are advised to wrap up warm as there is no heating in the church!
12th December 2009. This year’s Christmas lunch will be held at the Ilsington Country House Hotel. Come along at 12pm for 1pm lunch. This is a popular event in the DPA calendar and a great opportunity to catch up with old friends.

The last castle to be built in England, perched 275m high in the Dartmoor National Park, the Lutyens-designed Castle Drogo is memorable enough on normal days, but in December it takes on a period feel with 30s-style decorations throughout the house.
There’s carol singing in the library, and the kids can visit Father Christmas in a traditional grotto. Many National Trust properties throughout the country are offering similar festive days.

All Saints Okehampton has its annual Christingle service on Sun 6th Dec at 11:00 am. Everyone is given an orange with a candle and some sweets and we make a circle around the church. it is a lovely way to begin the Christmas season. Everyone welcome.
